The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. As Catholics, we believe that the Eucharist is not just a symbol, but the real presence of Jesus Christ—His body, blood, soul, and divinity. Receiving Holy Communion for the first time is a profound milestone in a child’s faith journey, bringing them into a deeper, lifelong intimacy with Christ.
At St. Michael’s, we are overjoyed to walk alongside your family as your child prepares to encounter Jesus in this beautiful sacrament.
Our Sacramental Preparation Program
Preparing to receive the Eucharist is a sacred journey that requires time, reflection, and heart. Because of the importance of this sacrament, St. Michael’s requires a two-year preparation program.
During these two years, children will not only learn about the Mass and the Eucharist, but they will also prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), experiencing God’s boundless mercy before their First Holy Communion.
🌐 Bilingual Classes Available / Clases Disponibles en Ambos Idiomas
To support all the families in our vibrant community, we are proud to offer our sacramental preparation classes in both English and Spanish. You can choose the language that best fits your child’s learning and your family’s needs.
When Should My Child Start?
To ensure children have a strong foundation and can grow into the sacrament naturally with their peers, we highly recommend enrolling your children as they enter 1st grade and 2nd grade.
Note: If your child is older than 2nd grade and has not yet started preparation, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We have pathways available for children of all ages.
